Swoon Terms of Service
Last updated: July 11, 2026
The short version. Swoon is a reading companion and journal for romance readers. Your words stay yours; what you share is anonymous and shared one line at a time; be honest about what you upload. The rest is detail:
Who can use Swoon
You must be at least 13 and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
What Swoon is
A companion you talk to about books, a journal built from those conversations, and book recommendations. The companion's replies are AI-generated and can be wrong — treat them as a well-read friend's take, not an oracle. Its book knowledge is grounded in public information and other readers' contributions.
Your words stay yours
You own what you write. You grant Swoon only the license needed to run the service for you: generating your journal, building your taste profile, and — only when you explicitly choose to share a take — showing that take anonymously on a book's page. Storage, anonymization, and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy.
Importing reviews
If you import reviews, you confirm they're your own work and you have the right to upload them. Don't upload anyone else's writing.
Community pages
Takes you share join a book's community page anonymously, to help the next reader. You decide what to share, one take at a time; you don't hold a claim over the anonymized community page they join.
Money
During beta, Swoon is free. At launch, a monthly subscription is billed through Stripe; cancel any time from the billing portal, effective at the end of the period you've paid for. Prices and features may change with notice. Some outbound book links are affiliate links (Bookshop.org and Amazon Associates); swoon may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through them. Subscribers are shown plain, non-affiliate links instead. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Ground rules
Don't abuse the service, use it to break the law, or try to break it. We can suspend accounts that do.
Leaving
Delete your account any time from Settings. What gets erased, the 14-day restore window, and what happens to shared takes are in the Privacy Policy.
The legal shell
Swoon is provided "as is"; to the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or incidental damages. We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll say so, and continuing to use Swoon after a change means you accept it.
